While travelling across Eastern Europe, the sight of immense tracts of land cultivated with bright yellow flowers was a common sight. It was always a marvelous sight. These fields cultivate rapeseed, the flowers of which are bright yellow.
Rapeseed was originally cultivated for animal feed and more recently as a vegetable oil for human consumption and for biodiesel. Canola used to be a trademark, but it is now a generic term in for edible varieties of rapeseed oil.
