A trip to Hokkaido would not be meaningful if you do not enjoy fresh seafood, more so if you are sashimi fan. My wife and I enjoy sashimi and we visited the place in summer. The weather was generally cool with intermittent drizzles.
Our greatest surprise was to see flowers everywhere, not just at the flower farms. Apparently the Japanese are great fans of natural beauty and they grow flowers everywhere. You see flowers in front of office blocks, in open gardens at home and along the roads as well as at the public parks. They even organize flower shows on a big scale regularly. This was our bonus as we had not anticipated this. And what lovely flowers!
