Zebra Doves are timid birds who are used to being near humans. They feed on seeds and small insects but generally they would pick on small amounts of anything edible from the ground. Most of the time they are mild in the behavior an occasional flare-up could show their more "ferocious" side.
What endears
them to us is their sense of togetherness as a family. The entire family
comes together to roost together on a branch or wherever it's
comfortable to them.
This photo shows a family of Zebra Doves roosting overnight on a branch of a ficus tree. The adults are perched on the outside while the two younger birds are perched in between.
This is yet another quality we can learn from the birds.
