I have posted several times on Colmar Tropicale before. Of course, there is a certain French ambience if you stay at the resort and more so now that the owners have repainted and refurbished the place. And with the recent upgrade, the prices have been adjusted a little upwards, naturally.
I am not going to talk about the concrete structures of the resort here. Though it's good to have comfortable ambience where we stay, I am also very interested in what eco-benefits the place has to offer. While the mists we used to see in Genting 20 years ago no longer exist, save for some rare occasions, they are still there at Bukit Tinggi.
I love walking up the steep slope from the car park to the Japanese
Village in the early morning, just after eight and before the village's
staff come in to open up the office at about nine. Walking through the
grounds of the Japanese Village in the midst of a thick mist offers one
the luxury of solitude and an opportunity to do some reflection. Somehow
many of the day-to-day matters don't seem so urgent anymore and many
issues are put into their proper perspectives.
It takes slightly more than an hour to walk through the Japanese Village and then down into the secondary forest reserve below and then back again. I would be sweating profusely by then, feeling more than happy and satisfied.
This is a fulfilling experience indeed for a self retreat and a trip to re-connect with Nature.
