I see quite a number of dragonflies in my garden because I keep a small pond with waterlilies and some fish. Of course, apart from the usual dragonflies, this pond also attracts predator birds like kingfishers and herons and For days after their visit, the fish would refuse to surface even when they are fed!
But dragonflies are heavenly. Though in the west, dragonflies were often symbols of bad luck, weaved into their myths. But I was also made to understand that it's different in Japan where dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength, and happiness, and they often appear in art and literature, especially haiku.
It makes me happy whenever I see them in my garden. These photos were taken in my garden pond.
