Mexican sunflowers will definitely brighten any garden. And they attract butterflies too. So we can attract butterflies and have fun doing it with big, bold, beautiful Mexican sunflowers. Plant it from seed directly in the ground and watch it soar. These are planted by my wife in our garden. The plant is about 3 to 4 feet high but some species grow up to 7 or 8 feet.
They are reasonably easy to grow. Tithonia, as these flowers are also known, must have full sun but it will grow in average soil with good drainage. It is a heat- and drought-resistant plant that grows reasonably well in soils of low fertility
